On Saturday we went to the open house at the Fire Station
There was a small parade at the U of M
Well, I guess, it finally caught up with me...Rob always said that it would. With all the myspaces and facebooks and blogspots, we have some kinda virus. I will be taking my computer in to get cleaned up sometime this week. So, I don't think I will be updating for a bit.
So, this is what has happened up to date. Yesterday it rained some. So, the crew went home and Rob was able to go to church with us. When we got home he was on the phone and computer to see if it was going to be worth going out and starting up. He said he would "pull trucks on Monday, he would pull trucks on Tuesday, but he wont pull trucks on Sunday." After some testing, he felt that they would be safe to go out. They had a great and productive day.
We have had two guys driving the beet lifter, and now, one of out guys is done. So that means that Rob has to be beet lifter now. So, he worked until about 8 ish last night, came home and slept till about 11:30 and went out to lift beets till about 6 am. When I woke up, I heard the faint sounds of rain on the roof and started to pray. I got up and looked out and sure enough, RAIN. There was our semi, in the ditch. Apparently, a wrecker had to come to get it out. Rob said that they worked on it with the CAT for a couple of hours and they weren't able to get it to budge. So, after that happened and the rain kept coming, they called it a day. There is not need to put the guys at risk and the equipment at risk either. Today is to be the only day it rains, the rest of the week looks clear and cool. They should be caught up in a couple of full shifts (48 hours). The nice things about all of this; my husband is upstairs sleeping.
